Datalab offers an advanced service for capturing and processing aerial images and crucial information about infrastructures.

We carry out aerial topography, thermography and multispectral inspections with drones in an efficient and economic way, generating different types of models.

Surveying and photogrammetric modeling are faster and more affordable than ever.

We carry out works from a few hectares to hundreds of km2 without altering their daily processes.

We generate orthophotos, photogrammetry, elevation maps, contour lines, terrain curving, point clouds and 3D reconstructions from images taken with the latest generation aerial platforms.

We are authorized by AESA for commercial operations with drones in controlled airspace (CTR) and night operations.

Aerial capture methods

Wind Farm Inspection

We carry out periodic reviews for the early detection of incidents in wind turbines.

The blades are inspected with drones equipped with high-resolution cameras, which obtain hundreds of photographs that detect damage and wear in exceptional detail.

The preventive maintenance service is essential to ensure maximum production and durability of wind turbines.

Characteristics of Wind Turbine Blade Inspection

  • 24MP image size
  • Immediate delivery
  • Periodic inspections
  • Expert Analysis
  • Full Report

Aerial Thermography

Aerial thermographs are images that show the apparent temperature of the surfaces portrayed through infrared radiation. The drone’s thermal camera is ideal for detecting any type of defect in the solar panels.

They are used in inspection of fields, buildings, electrical installations to analyse wear and tear or stress of wiring.

The amount of radiation emitted by an object is proportional to its temperature, which provides thermography to obtain temperature variations independent of the lighting in the area.

Characteristics of Aerial Thermography

  • 640 x 480 pixel image resolution
  • 8-12 µm spectral band
  • Fast delivery
  • Delivery in any standard format: jpg, tiff, etc.

Digital elevation models

Digital Elevation Models (also known as MDE or DEM) respond to cartographic files that identify the territorial surface using elevation data.

The combination of drones, software and GPS / RTK equipment allows us to obtain high-resolution georeferenced aerial images, orthophotos and MDEs with the process.

It consists of a series of points with known coordinates referenced to a two-dimensional coordinate system to which an elevation value is associated.

Features of digital elevation models

  • Resolution from 2cm / pixels to 2m / pixels
  • Surfaces of up to 100 hectares per flight
  • Fast delivery
  • 3D modeling
  • Delivery in any standard format: geotiff, png, etc.

It is a cartographic product generated from a set of digital aerial images, free of errors and deformations, geometrically corrected (orthorectification) so that the scale between them is uniform, with the same validity as a conventional cartography, in the precision aspect.

Exact measurements are possible, unlike simple aerial photography.

The images are obtained using a photogrammetric camera installed on our aircraft.

Characteristics of orthophotos

  • Surfaces of up to 100 hectares per flight
  • Spatial resolution between 2 cm / pixel to 2 m / pixel
  • Spectral resolution: visible, near infrared
  • Delivery in any standard format: jpg, geotiff, etc.

Point clouds

We generate dense point clouds of high precision that are used for the calculation of volumes, sections or integration of designs.

Once the images are obtained, we will process with photogrammetry software that is capable of “inferring” the XYZ position of millions of points. These millions of points will serve to generate the 3D reconstructions in the form of polygons, point clouds.

With our drone system equipped with high-quality sensors, we can carry out works such as quarry exploration, cartography, 3d modeling for archeology, etc.

Point Cloud Formats and 3D Models

  • Point cloud file delivery: laz, las, xyz, ply
  • Delivery of 3D model files: obj, .ply, .fbx, .dxf, .osgb, .slpk, .pdf

Cost Reduction

Hundreds of hectares can be mapped in a single flight and results can be obtained in record time

Centimetric Accuracy

Through the use of control points, absolute precision of a few centimeters is achieved
